Vaccines are not only a way to protect yourself from viruses or disease but it can also help protect those around you. We encourage our patients to take the initiative to get vaccinated! MedSave offers the following vaccinations with no appointment necessary:


Shingles (Zostavax)

The Zostavax shot may decrease your risk of getting shingles by 50%. Shingles can be a very painful and debilitating disease, especially in the elderly. It is recommended that adults 55 years and older get a Zostavax shot once in the lifetime.


Pneumonia (Pneumovax23 and Prevnar 13)

The Pneumovax23 and Prevnon 13 vaccine can help prevent pneumonia, meningitis and blood infections. All adults 65 years and older are recommended to get the Pneumovax shot. Other groups that are recommended to get the shot are people ages 19 to 64 that have diabetes, lung disease, asthma, smokers, or have a weakened immune system. If you were vaccinated prior to 65 years of age, it is recommended to revaccinate at the age of 65.


Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertussis, Whooping Cough (Tdap)

The Tdap shot protects your from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (also known as whooping cough). All adults are recommended to get a Tdap shot every 10 years. It is important that all adults that expect to come in close contact with a newborn be vaccinated 2 weeks prior to contact.

Flu Shot – Who Should Get Them?

Everyone who is 6 months and older should get the flu shot. It is very important that people with higher risk of influenza complications get vaccinated. High risk groups include ages 6 months to 4 years, 50 years and older, pregnant women, patients with lung disease, heart disease, and diabetics. It is recommended to get a flu shot every year because your immunity declines by the time the next flu season arrives. The contents of the vaccination changes from year to year also.
